I have been a runner since I was in 8th grade. My inspiration at the time was to follow in the footsteps of my sister Katie who was a 4-time All-State runner and 4 time All-American at The University of Michigan. She and her husband Bob were the two people who gave me the love for running. Beyond running, my Dad is my biggest inspiration. He had a heart attack when he was 45 and when he recovered, he taught our family how to come back better and stronger than before.
I got into triathlons when I moved to North Carolina 2 1/2 years ago. I am from Michigan, the state that truly has made me a tough competitor and athlete. My experiences from running at Eastern Michigan University and training with some of the best athletes in the country, have helped me become a better runner and a competitive triathlete. My 5K personal best is 14:35. In my first competitive marathon which I placed 2nd with a time of 2:33:06. Triathlons are very new to me, but I really enjoy the challenge of multi-sports and using my running ability to place high.
I work as a running coach in Wilmington, NC. Our club, Without Limits Running, is a team -centered atmosphere which creates a fun, supportive and encouraging environment to train hard.
