Kerry Troester
Welcome to Kerry, another female Masters Elite Overall title threat in the NCTS. Kerry comes from a strong running background, and with only a couple years of recent triathlon competitions under her belt, she has racked up some impressive results. Most recently finishing the 2008 70.3 World Championships in November in 4:53, Kerry plans to continue the attack . She will attend long course du worlds in the fall and probably top off her season with another stellar marathon as she did in NYC with her 3:13 in 2009. Spotted "carb loading" with a smile and a Corona in her hand the night before White Lake Half Ironman, Kerry is the first to admit that she's not neurotic about her diet and that she enjoys herself in every training moment not spent with her three children. Wow! This season she begins her journey under coach Dave Williams of Trianglemutisport. Watch for this runner to grow some gills and to continue her dominance of masters open females in the NCTS.

My name is Kerry Troester and this is my second year on the team.   Some highlights from my last few years of racing include placing 18th in my age group at the 2008 Foster Grant Ironman 70.3 World Championships, earning a bronze medal (3rd place) at the 2009 Duathlon World Championships, getting the 2nd overall masters open for the NCTS in 2009 and placing 25th in my age group at the 2009 NYC Marathon with a time of 3:13.  Also hold masters woman title for mile and half-marathon distances in the southern region.

My athletic background includes running track in high-school and rowing crew in college.  After college, I was actively involved with the New York City Road Runners Club and have run multiple marathons (including New York, Boston, San Francisco) and lots of road races, etc.  In the late 90’s, I moved to Northern California and started road-biking.

I started doing tris in 2006 as a way to cross-train and have gotten the bug.  Running is still my favorite and strongest of the three parts.  I just started swimming three years ago so its still a work in progress....but I enjoy it!!

I live in North Raleigh and have three young boys (ages 9, 7 and 5) so I train when I can and focus on enjoying the sport and having fun.
