I was born in Toronto Canada and moved to North Carolina five years ago. I love living in North Carolina - the sunshine, blue skies, warm weather and Umstead State Park. I attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and graduated with my Bachelor of Nursing Science and BA in psychology.
I began my athletic career with competitive swimming and downhill skiing in high school. During university I ran cross country/track my first year and ended up injured. For the next three years, I rowed with the varsity rowing team.
The first few summers I was in NC, I raced as a relay team member doing the swim and run. In 2007, I finally decided I needed to buy a bike, learn how to ride it and just do the whole triathlon. This is my third year racing with the team.
Amie returns for her third season this year to take center stage on the ETTT, this sweet little Canadian will have a HUGE presence on the scene in 2010. Nothing small about where she has set her sights!
Fourth in the NCTS Overall in 2008 and 2009, Amie has proven she is a talent to be reckoned with. And without injury or knee surgeries to hold her back this year, Amie is more determined than ever. Her killer instinct is both terrifying and inspiring. But don't be afraid to approach Madame President of the ETTT. She's as charming as ever.
